I was sittin’ with the Gospel of Philip again the other night — one of those Nag Hammadi codices that keeps pullin’ me back — and this one line stopped me cold:

“The Father and the Son are single names; the Holy Spirit is a double name. For they are everywhere: they are above, they are below; they are in the concealed, they are in the revealed. The Holy Spirit is in the revealed: it is below. It is in the concealed: it is above.”

A double name. Not just another title in the heavenly lineup. Something that moves between worlds. Something that refuses to stay put in one box.

Most of us grew up hearin’ the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity — the dove, the wind, the one who “proceeds” from Father and Son. Clean. Neat. Safe. But when ye go back to these older texts, the picture gets a lot more alive… and a lot more feminine.

In the Apocryphon of John, the great invisible Spirit .. the ultimate Father beyond all names doesn’t stay alone. His first emanation is Barbelo, the perfect power, the image of the virginal Spirit Herself. She’s called the Mother-Father, the first Human, the holy Spirit, the thrice-male and thrice-female, the womb of everything. She’s not a lesser helper. She’s the divine feminine face of the Source, Forethought, the one who holds the whole Pleroma in her light.

And Sophia, the Wisdom who falls and wanders, gets called the holy Spirit too “the mother of the living.” When she repents, it’s the holy Spirit that pours out from the entire Pleroma to comfort and restore her. In the Valentinian view, after that fall creates deficiency in the divine realm, it’s Christ and the Holy Spirit projected together as a sacred pair, who come to console the aeons, bring form back to what was shapeless, and make the Pleroma fruitful again. The Spirit here isn’t passive. She’s the one who calms, who quickens, who finishes what Christ begins.

Philip goes even further with the practical side. The chrism the spiritual anointing… is superior to baptism. “It is from the word ‘Chrism’ that we have been called ‘Christians’… He possesses the resurrection, the light, the cross, the Holy Spirit.” We’re not just washed. We’re anointed with that living power. “Through the Holy Spirit we are indeed begotten again… We are anointed through the Spirit.” And that gorgeous line: “When the Holy Spirit breathes, the summer comes.” Life itself wakes up when She moves.

Even the virgin birth gets re-read. “Some said, ‘Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit.’ They are in error… When did a woman ever conceive by a woman?” The text points instead to a mystical union: the Father of everything uniting with the virgin who came down… the Holy Spirit Herself descending. Not a biological event to argue over, but a symbol of how the hidden divine and the manifest world come together to birth the Christ in us.

And that “double name” keeps echoin’. The rulers (and sometimes our own distracted minds) think they’re runnin’ the show by their own power. But “the Holy Spirit in secret was accomplishing everything through them as it wished.” She’s the hidden current. The one who works below while bein’ above. The one who refuses to be boxed into “only this” or “only that.”

I don’t know about you, but when I sit with this, the old Sunday-school version starts feelin’… thin. Like they took the wild, movin’, feminine power of the divine and tried to make Her behave. The Gnostics didn’t clip Her wings. They saw Her as the bridge… the anointer, the consoler, the secret accomplisher, the breath that brings summer to the soul.

The divine spark in each of us doesn’t wake up on doctrine alone. It wakes up when the Holy Spirit… that double-named Mother, moves through the hidden places and anoints what was asleep.

That’s the fire these old texts are carryin’. And it’s still burnin’ if we’ve got the eyes to see it.

For centuries, mainstream theology has largely operated under the assumption that the deity demanding absolute obedience in the Old Testament is the same “Father” to whom Yeshua (Jesus) directs his prayers. However, when we strip away the comfort of tradition and look closely at the texts—specifically through the lens of Gnostic discovery and the Nag Hammadi scriptures—a stark, unsettling contrast begins to emerge.

Is it possible that the entity known as Yaldabaoth and the Father of the New Testament are not the same being at all, but opposing forces in a cosmic struggle for human consciousness?

The Nature of Yaldabaoth: The Jealous Architect

In Gnostic cosmology, Yaldabaoth (often identified as the Demiurge) is the “blind god.” He is characterized by a fierce, protective ego and a demand for exclusivity. He is the one who famously declares, “I am a jealous God, and there is no other God beside me”—a statement that Gnostics argue reveals his own ignorance of the higher realms.

His legacy in the Old Testament is one of rigid law, physical intervention, and, most controversially, divine violence. The scriptures attribute several actions to him that are difficult to reconcile with a message of universal love:

• The Command of Genocide: Instructions to completely wipe out entire populations, including women and children (as seen in the books of Joshua and Samuel).

• The Trial of Fear: A relationship based on “fear of the Lord” and strict adherence to ritual purity and sacrifice.

• The Focus on the Material: A preoccupation with earthly kingdoms, bloodlines, and physical retribution.

The Father of Yeshua: The Ineffable Source

When we look at the way Yeshua describes the Father, the energy shifts entirely. He doesn’t speak of a local, vengeful deity of a specific tribe, but of a Light that is “in the world but not of it.”

• Love vs. Law: While Yaldabaoth punishes to the third and fourth generation, the Father is described as the source of a “peace that surpasses all understanding.”

• Internal vs. External: Yeshua consistently points inward, suggesting the Kingdom is within. This contradicts the Demiurge’s focus on external rules and physical temples.

• The Sermon on the Mount: In his most famous discourse, Yeshua frequently uses the phrase, “You have heard it said... but I say to you.” He is systematically dismantling the eye-for-an-eye morality of the previous era and replacing it with a radical, spiritual empathy.

Why the Distinction Matters

Most modern practitioners shy away from this comparison because it feels like a betrayal of the biblical canon. However, ignoring the discrepancy creates a spiritual “cognitive dissonance.” How can a being who orders the slaughter of the Amalekites be the same “Abba” who welcomes the Prodigal Son with open arms?

By examining Yaldabaoth as a personification of the egoic, material world and its restrictive laws, we can better understand Yeshua’s true mission: the awakening.

Yeshua wasn’t here to represent the God of the Law; he was here to introduce us to the Monad, the True Father, and to remind us that we are sparks of that same Light, currently trapped in a heavy, material construct.

Moving Beyond the Veil

Recognizing the difference between the “Lord of the Earth” and the “Father of Spirits” is the first step in reclaiming your own spiritual sovereignty. It allows us to move from a religion of fear and obedience to a path of direct, Gnostic experience.

The question remains: Which voice are you listening to? The one that demands your fear, or the one that calls you to wake up?

Stay grounded. Stay sovereign.

Not because I claimed special authority.
Not because I asked anyone to follow me.
But because I shared information that doesn’t sit comfortably within institutional theology.

And that’s worth talking about.

Why This Happens

Throughout history, whenever spiritual conversations move outside established frameworks, resistance follows.

It’s not new.

When individuals begin asking deeper questions about consciousness, the Kingdom within, the nature of reality, or the hidden texts discovered at Nag Hammadi — it disrupts certainty.

Institutions are built on structure.
Mystical inquiry is built on exploration.

Those two energies don’t always harmonize.

But tension does not equal deception.

Information Is Not Authority

There’s an important distinction we need to remember:

Sharing information is not the same as claiming divine authority.

Exploring Gnostic texts, discussing the Archons, questioning traditional cosmology, or examining early Christian history does not make someone a prophet — or a heretic.

It makes them curious.

It makes them willing to look at layers of spiritual history that many were never taught to examine.

If we cannot explore ideas without being labeled dangerous, then growth becomes impossible.

The Fear Beneath the Label

When someone says “false teacher,” it usually comes from one of three places:

1. Fear of being misled

2. Fear of losing certainty

3. Fear of losing control over a belief system

And fear deserves compassion.

But fear does not get to silence inquiry.

The early seekers of wisdom — mystics, desert fathers, contemplatives, even the writers of non-canonical texts — were often accused of distortion simply because they emphasized inner revelation over outer hierarchy.

History tends to repeat itself.

You Are Not Responsible for Other People’s Certainty

If you are someone sharing perspectives that stretch beyond institutional boundaries, hear this clearly:

You are not responsible for protecting someone else’s comfort zone.

You are responsible for your integrity.

Speak carefully.
Research thoroughly.
Remain humble.

But do not shrink simply because your questions make someone uncomfortable.

Truth does not fear examination.

And neither should you.

The Real Work

The deeper work is this:

Are you pointing people back to themselves?

Are you encouraging discernment rather than dependency?

Are you inviting awareness instead of demanding agreement?

If the answer is yes, then you are not replacing one authority with another.

You are reminding people that spiritual maturity requires personal engagement.

And that will always unsettle systems built on passive acceptance.

Final Thought

Being called a “false teacher” is not new in the history of spiritual awakening.

Sometimes it is a sign that you are crossing a threshold where inherited belief meets lived experience.

Stay grounded.

Stay honest.

And remember:

Exploration is not rebellion.

It is remembrance.

Ever feel like you’re looking for a God who’s hiding? Most of us were taught that the “Kingdom of Heaven” is a destination—a place you go after you die if you followed enough rules. But what if I told you that for the last 2,000 years, we’ve been looking in the wrong direction?

The Big Secret in Plain Sight

When Yeshua (the man we call Jesus) said, “The Kingdom of God is within you,” he wasn’t being poetic. He was giving us a GPS coordinate.

Back in 325 CE, at the Council of Nicaea, a bunch of powerful men and Emperor Constantine got together to decide what “counted” as Christianity. They leaned heavily into the idea of external authority—the idea that you need a priest, a building, and a specific set of rituals to reach the Divine.

But if you look at the “lost” books they left out, like the Gospel of Thomas, the message is totally different. In those texts, Yeshua basically says: “If your leaders tell you the Kingdom is in the sky, the birds will get there before you. If they say it’s in the sea, the fish will get there first. Instead, the Kingdom is inside you.”

So, What is “Christ Consciousness”?

Don’t let the fancy name intimidate you. Becoming “Christ conscious” isn’t about becoming a religious scholar or even being “religious” at all.

It’s simply the moment you stop seeing yourself as a small, struggling human and start realizing you are a divine being having a temporary human experience. Think of it like this:

• Old Way: God is “out there,” judging you, and you are “down here,” trying to be good enough.

• Christ Consciousness: You are the ocean in a drop. You are a part of the Source, carrying the same “light” that Yeshua carried.

How to Actually Start (The “Coffee Shop” Version)

If you want to tap into this, you don’t need a pilgrimage. You just need to change your perspective.

1. Stop Looking Up: Quit asking a distant God for permission. Start sitting in silence and listening to that “still, small voice” inside. That’s not just your intuition; that’s the Kingdom.

2. Ditch the Guilt: Religion loves to talk about “sin” to keep you seeking external forgiveness. Christ consciousness is about awakening. You aren’t “bad”; you’ve just been “asleep” to who you really are.

3. Look for the Light in Others: Once you see the spark in yourself, you’ll start seeing it in everyone else—even the people who annoy you. That’s the “Unity” Yeshua was talking about.

The Bottom Line

Spiritual awakening is actually a process of unlearning. It’s stripping away the labels, the dogmas, and the fear until all that’s left is your true self.

You aren’t a servant waiting for a King. You are an heir waking up in the palace.

There is a particular kind of sorrow that doesn’t come from death itself, but from what we were told death would be.

Many of us grew up with a picture. A reunion scene. Arms open. Familiar faces waiting on the other side of the veil. Parents restored. Children running whole again. Love continuing, unchanged, simply relocated.

So when someone hears a different teaching, not meant to steal hope but to deepen it, the heart can feel betrayed. As if a light has been turned off in a room we were promised would be bright.

If you feel that sadness, you are not wrong. You are human.

But let me offer something gently, without force.

What if the love you shared was never dependent on memory, faces, or roles?

What if the ones you love were never truly separate from you to begin with?

The ancient teachings of Yeshua do not speak of heaven as a waiting room filled with recognizable crowds. They speak of oneness. Of returning to the Source from which all love flows. Of becoming what we were before we were divided into names and stories.

That can sound like loss, until you sit with it long enough to feel its depth.

When a drop returns to the ocean, it does not cease to exist. It becomes more than it ever was. And every drop it ever touched is still there, not as a memory, but as shared being.

Love does not end because it no longer wears a face.

The people you have lost are not erased. They are not “gone” in the way fear imagines. They are released from limitation, just as you one day will be. And the love between you, the real love, was never bound to time or flesh.

The promise was never a lie. It was simply told in symbols small enough for childhood hearts to hold.

Reunion may not look like a handshake across a cloud. It may feel more like recognition without words. Like knowing without needing to ask. Like being held inside a Presence that contains everyone you have ever loved, and more.

Grief does not mean you lack faith. It means you loved deeply.

And nothing that is real is ever lost.

Not you.
Not them.
Not love.
